In general, spirituality relates to our souls – our infinite essence and true embodiment of our authentic self and core beliefs – and our personal connection to something bigger than ourselves. It describes how we connect to the sacred and divine to understand the meaning of our lives and how we uniquely fit into the greater cosmos of life.
Rather than establishing boundaries within specific doctrines, organized rules, or institutional practices, spirituality affords us the freedom to create our own beliefs rooted in universal truths of love, acceptance, connection, and karma. It acknowledges our limitless potential and encourages self-discovery and growth. We are empowered to follow our own path, discovering questions, answers and our own inner truth; there are no limits to our understanding or curiosity, only those that we pose on ourselves.
Spirituality represents a universal dimension of human experience that we all share but experience differently.
It encompasses the personal relationship we have with our Higher Self or Higher Power, and how this divine connection manifests itself in our daily lives. It is not constrained by inflexible dogmas but is instead fluid and versatile. Just as our sense of meaning and purpose can change throughout our lives, so can our spirituality as we continue to adapt to our experiences, relationships, and perception of the world and our place within it.
Spirituality emphasizes the need to turn inwards and first connect with ourselves. When we engage in spiritual work, we access our inner wisdom and find our inner voice. We remember who we are at a soul level. We raise our vibration. We are able to know, with certainty, why we are here and the role we play in the Universe’s great plan. We become aware. We awaken.
Although spirituality is highly individualized and deeply personal, our discrete spiritual beliefs, practices, and experiences do not divide, but rather connect. They remind us of the deep and eternal interconnectedness we have with each other. Rays of divine light are within each of us and spirituality is the great unifier that allows us to experience the full expression of this magnificent light.
It is through our connection to each other than we are able to transcend into something greater than who we currently know ourselves to be. We are so much more than we know. We are infinite, boundless pieces of the Universe connected to each other through universal truth and light.
When we find ourselves and acknowledge our souls’ greater destiny and place within the cosmos of life, we’re able to harmonize and flow with the Universe. We’re able to experience the sacred connection and innate oneness of all that is, all that was, and all that will be. We’re able to find the magic.
